In 1852, William Cornell, namesake of Cornell Road, settled near what is now the easternmost part of Cedar Mill with his wife Emily.
The sawmill was established in 1859 by John Halsey Jones and his father, Justus, and was the “first organized business” in what is now Cedar Mill. Many of its early settlers were Irish.
Plans to build the large new neighborhood (Cedar Hills) were announced by developers in April 1946.
The owners of Bleachers Bar & Grill appreciate the rich history of the area and strive to complement that tradition with a convenient, fun sports bar.
